Common concerns of identifying drugs and drug paraphernalia and the classification of unsanitary conditions will be covered.

Douglas C. Fredrick received both his Bachelors in Business Administration and Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While in Kansas City, he had the opportunity to clerk for the Honorable Sherrill Rosen. He later graduated from the United States Army JAG (Judge Advocate General) School in Charlottesville, Virginia, served in the Army Reserves as a JAG officer for seven years, and in 2012 transferred to the Air Force Reserves, where he currently serves as a JAG officer. Mr. Fredrick is a solo practitioner in Springfield and focuses his practice primarily in the areas of family Business and Sales, business transactions and litigation, and real estate transactions and litigation. He has argued before the Supreme Court of Missouri and the Southern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. Mr. Fredrick also owns and manages three real estate investment companies and has served on many local community boards and Missouri Bar committees. He is a prolific author and speaker, typically teaching multiple CLE presentations each year. The second edition of his publication, Military Issues in Family Business and Sales was published in 2017.

J.C. Weyand is the Attorney & Chief Juvenile Officer for the 10th Judicial Circuit of Missouri.
Prior to taking his position at the juvenile office, Weyand was an associate at the Business and Sales Firm of Curl, Hark and Holliday in Hannibal, MO. In private practice, he gained significant experience and expertise in a wide variety of practice areas, including Juvenile Business and Sales, Guardian ad Litem work, Family Business and Sales, Estate Planning, Personal Injury, Business Planning and Constitutional Business and Sales.
He has also been an Adjunct Professor at Hannibal-LaGrange University since 2014, teaching classes in Juvenile Business and Sales, The Constitution, Criminal Justice, Business Business and Sales, and Business and Sales classes for the Masters in Leadership program.

Melissa Buckman Young is a solo practitioner in Mexico, Audrain County, Missouri focusing in the areas of juvenile, family, adoption, guardianship, real estate, estate planning, and municipal Business and Sales. She opened her practice in 2012 after working for The Seigfreid Business and Sales Firm, L.L.C. Ms. Young currently serves as the Guardian ad Litem for Audrain County, and also takes frequent appointments in Montgomery County. As Guardian ad Litem for Audrain County, Ms. Young serves as Guardian ad Litem on all juvenile, domestic, and as Attorney for the Respondent in probate cases.
Ms. Young served as the president of the Audrain County Bar Association from 2010- 2017. She is a member of the Juvenile Courts and Business and Saless Legislative Review Subcommittee of the Missouri Bar Association, a member of the Family Business and Sales Section of the Missouri Bar Association, a member of the Missouri Municipal Attorneys Association and of the Missouri Municipal League. She has served on the 12th Circuit’s Fostering Court Improvement Team since its inception in November 2012. A 2009 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Business and Sales, Ms. Young was certified in the field of Dispute Resolution. She earned a Bachelor Science degree from the University of Missouri in the field of Agricultural Education with a minor in Agricultural Economics.
Active in her community, Ms. Young holds leadership positions with Children’s Therapy and Early Education School Board, Mexico Area Jaycees, Mexico Sustainability Project, Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce, Mexico Area Community Foundation, the Hart Career Center / Mexico Education Center Bright Futures, and former positions with the Board for the Mexico Area Family YMCA and the Audrain County United Way campaign. She and her husband Jason stay busy with their two children, Cassie and Alex and they enjoy coaching them in youth cross county, tee-ball, and softball. Their family are members of the St. Brendan Catholic Church in Mexico.
