I wasn’t always the “guru” for eCommerce entrepreneurs, but I have always had an entrepreneurial bug in me. When I was young I sold burned CD’s of video games to my high-school peers for $5 a piece.

As I grew older I sold Pokemon cards and Magic cards on eBay, and even did some garage sale flipping and dumpster diving to get valuable products to flip on eBay.

I made good side-money flipping things on eBay, but it wasn’t until I discovered drop shipping that I was able to start a real online business that could provide a consistent income just like I got from my job, but without needing to be anywhere at any particular time or answer to my boss. I was my own boss.

I fell in love with being a business owner and have worked my tail off for the past decade to become successful by providing valuable products and services to consumers all over the world.

But my biggest hurdle was always trying to find which niche to sell in.

When I first started my online business, I was selling fixed gear bikes.

While the products were profitable, the target market was broke college students and they were often a nightmare to deal with.

So, my business partner and I switched to selling road bikes.

The target market was a little older and had a little more money, but the problem we had was there weren’t enough drop shipping suppliers of road bikes to have a big profitable online business.

So, I advanced again, this time at the same pace as technology, by starting a drop shipping store selling electric bikes.

This was in 2014 when the niche was just starting to become popular, and by 2017 it was blowing up.

People all over the world now ride electric bikes and the market is growing even bigger now, but the problem with this niche is the same as the fixed gear bikes.

Some of the market doesn’t have a lot of money to spend, and there are a lot of issues with the products.

These problems created big hassles for my company, often making our workers very stressed out and resulting in chargebacks.

This led me to seek better solutions.

I started doing a lot of research online to find niches that were popular and trending, but didn’t have all the drawbacks of bicycles, like a tough-to-please target market and a lower-than-ideal income.
