Dr. Michael Fanning is a Rhode Island native. He served six years in the United States Air Force as a Forward Air Controller (JTAC), including two tours to Iraq. He is a SCUHS Graduate and has additional Sports Medicine training as a SCU Sports Medicine Resident. After finishing his residency, he became the Tactical Sports Medicine Lead Clinician at SCU. The Tactical Sports Medicine Clinic provides vertically integrated, high quality, patient centered care to Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, Veterans and First Responders. He has also traveled nationally and internationally to provide Sports Medicine care to USA Fencing, USA ParaFencing and ParaTrack and Field. Dr. Fanning holds a Diplomate from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP), he is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and an International Wheelchair Fencing Classification Committee Certified National Classifier.
