Getting good images and doing simple things well first
What you’ll learn:
Before scanning: The case, the context, echocardiography as a tool in practice and as a tool for cardiology specialists
Before scanning: Understanding your limitations and the limitations of the technique
Basic echocardiographic and thoracic ultrasonography technique & scanning planes: how to get the views you need
Basic subjective assessment and measurements – Chamber dimensions, wall thickening, systolic function
Interpreting your findings as a whole, artefacts and knowing your limitations
Extensive ultrasound videos are featured in this session
Session 2
Introduction to Doppler, canine cardiac disease, discussion of clinical cases
What you’ll learn:
Doppler technique: Principles and practical use
Echocardiography in mitral valve disease
Echocardiography in dilated cardiomyopathy
Echocardiography in pericardial disease
Interactive case-based discussion of clinical cases
