Description

A lifelong martial artist, Enrico Cocco was trained in leg locks early on and emphasized that he practiced them just as much as any other aspect of the submission game. He will use this skill to his advantage in the tournament scene, as other BJJ practitioners usually don’t have a strong Arsenal of leg locking and don’t have much knowledge of how to defend them. In 2003, at the young age of 15, Enrico won his first NAGA men’s 160 lb. expert division by introducing all your opponents by filing a leg lock.

Fast forward five years and Enrico will continue to be a force in the No Gi submission world, winning various local and national tournaments and reaching the No Gi jiu jitsu black belt rank.

In 2009, he won his biggest tournament to date – the North American ADCC Trials. He pitched 3 of his 4 opponents and won the final against UFC veteran Jacob Volkman by serving a toe of hold. This would secure him a place in the world’s most prestigious grappling competition, the ADCC World Championship.

In 2010, Kokko founded his own Zen Jiu Jitsu Academy, where he currently teaches and trains daily. He has made a name for himself as one of the best No Gi jiu jitsu practitioners on the planet, from winning the North American ADCC Trials two more times to competing and winning some of the biggest professional bouts.

Over the years of his competition, Enrico made many friends in the jiu-jitsu community and found that he formed an alliance with the master cyborg Abreu after competing side by side with him and other members of the sports wrestling team.

Enrico continues to live in the jiu-jitsu style, competing at the highest levels and passing the art on to his students. It is his hope to continue on his path to influence and help as many people as possible through Jiu Jitsu.
